Manual Therapy
Hands-on care with purpose.
Manual therapy can change how something feels, reduce discomfort, help you relax and create an opportunity for movement.
At HART MVMT, hands-on treatment is guided by assessment, experience and how your body responds.
We look at what changes and how we can build on that change.
What is manual therapy?
Manual therapy describes the hands-on techniques used during treatment.
How I use those techniques depends on the person in front of me.
You might come in looking for relief from pain or tension, greater freedom of movement, support alongside training, or simply some dedicated time to take care of your body.
Assessment helps guide the treatment and gives us a clearer picture of where to focus our time.
The result is care shaped around you.
Who it's for
Pain & Physical Comfort
For people looking to feel better, move more comfortably and build confidence in their body.
Active people
For people who lift, run, hike, practise martial arts, play sport or ask a lot from their bodies.
Treatment can support recovery, movement and your ability to keep doing the activities you enjoy.
Health & Well-Being
You can also come in simply because taking care of your body feels good.
Manual therapy can be time to slow down, recover and invest in your physical well-being.
You get to value your health before your body asks for your attention.
What to expect
Conversation
We start with you.
We'll talk about what you're experiencing, your health and movement history, and what you'd like to get from your time here.
Assessment
We'll look at the movement and physical capacity relevant to you.
Assessment gives us a starting point, helps guide treatment and provides something meaningful to build from.
Treatment
Hands-on treatment is guided by what we find and how your body responds.
I'll explain what I'm thinking along the way, and we'll adapt the session based on what feels useful for you.
Build from there
Treatment can be valuable on its own or become part of something bigger.
Movement, mobility, strength and progressive loading can build on the changes we create during treatment and expand your physical capacity over time.
The approach depends on you.
